AFL-CIO: Obey My Authority!

Continuation of my critique of the AFL-CIO commentary here and here.

In their Denver Post commentary, AFL-CIO executives John Sweeney and Mike Cerbo say that Hillary and Obama are correct to be

skeptical of the idea that the market is the right entity to put in charge. AFL-CIO: Do what we say!

Are they saying that the market is an entity? Doesn’t “the market” refer individuals making choices of what to buy and sell according their their own judgment of what is best for them?

Apparently Sweeney and Cerbo have a problem with such individual freedom. I suppose they advocate authority figures to make choices for us.
