Drug Approval Denationalization
November 24th, 2008 | by Brian Schwartz |Daniel Klein, economist at George Mason University, offers his answer to the Davos Question, saying that drugs approved in Canada, Britain, and other places gain automatic approval in the United States. The drug-approving agencies of recognized countries would become more responsive to the needs of humanity. The proposal is called Drug Approval Denationalization.
Dan Klein is a co-author of FDAreview.org and has written a short article, Economists Against the FDA, and a longer one on the tyranny of the status quo regarding how economists view the FDA. He has also written the wonderful The People’s Romance with Government.
