Obama: “it’s not about politics” … except advancing his own

August 17th, 2009 | by Brian Schwartz |

Bruce McQuain has an insightful critique of Barack Obama’s op-ed in the New York Times.  Basically, Obama says health insurance policy is a very important issue, and it “deserves serious debate.”  Yet, so called health insurance “reform” (it’s not reform, it entrenches the status quo) must be passed “this year.”  About Obama’s claims, McQuain asks “if he actually believes it is about “people’s lives and livelihoods” and we must rush to accommodate the people, why does the bulk of the proposed legislation not kick in until 2013?”
