Make Congress enroll in “public option”

Senator David Vitter (R-La) argues that Congress should enroll in any government-run health plan they want to impose on U.S. citizens:

I’ve joined together with Rep. John Fleming, R-Minden, to apply pressure to the Washington politicians by requiring members of the House of Representatives, senators and their families to join any public health plan that they want to create for Louisianians and the rest of the country.

I’d limit it to any politician who votes for a bill that introduces a new government-run health plan.  Yet, I am concerned that they would then run it like Medicare, which is destined to bankrupt the country.
