Linda Gorman is a Senior Fellow at the Independence Institute, a free market think tank in Golden, Colorado and director of the Institute’s Health Care Center. A freelance writer and researcher, she was a weekly columnist for the Colorado Daily in Boulder. Her articles have appeared in local newspapers, professional journals, and publications such as The Fortune Encyclopedia of Economics. She is also a contributor to the State Policy Blog and a frequent guest on Independent Thinking.
She has worked as an economic researcher for a Denver mutual fund company, and was an adjunct professor and a principal investigator for several military manpower projects at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. Her academic degrees are in economics.
Brian T. Schwartz graduated with Honors from Swarthmore College in 1997. For a couple years after that he built and tested lasers, as well as fulfilling his dream of some kind cross between of Bill Nye the Science Guy and Weird Al Yankovic.
In 2005 he completed a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder. He is the first author of three peer-reviewed scientific publications. He has been a Graduate Science and Technology Policy Fellow at the National Academy of Sciences and a research assistant at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, D.C.
His proposal to the Colorado Blue Ribbon Commission for Health Care Reform is entitled FAIR: Free-markets, Affordability, and Individual Rights, and is accessible at WhoOwnsYou.org. His articles on health care reform have appeared in TCS Daily, the Boulder Daily Camera, Pueblo Chieftain, Colorado Springs Gazette, Rocky Mountain News, and the Denver Post.
